Arlesey Town remain rooted to the foot of the Southern League Division One Central after a 1-0 defeat at home to St Ives Town on Saturday.
It was an evenly contested affair and the only goal of the game came 15 minutes from time.
The referee pointed to the penalty spot for a handball from a cross and Jack Higgs slotted home the kick.
The result moved St Ives into fourth spot while Arlesey are bottom with one point from their opening seven games. However, a win will see them leap several places up the table.
They are in FA Cup action at Brentwood tomorrow, before visiting Kings Langley the following weekend.
