Arlesey Town made a disastrous start to their Southern League Division One Central campaign as they were thrashed 5-0 at Northwood on Saturday.

George Nicholas opened the scoring for the hosts midway through the first half, swiftly followed by a second when Michael Murray fired home a penalty.

The Blues collapsed midway through the second half. Murray secured his hat-trick with two goals in three minutes, and sub Max Holland added a fifth.

Arlesey host Leighton Town in a Bedfordshire derby on Tuesday, August 11.
