Bedfordshire League leaders Oakley defeated

AFC Oakley M&DH saw their lead at the head of the Premier Division supported by Sportsform league table reduced to just a single point after their 12 game unbeaten run was ended by a 4-2 defeat at Marston Shelton Rovers on Saturday.

Jamie Cerminara with a brace plus strikes from Alex Burrows and Peter Kerr were on the Rovers scoresheet against an own goal and a strike from Shaun Barnett coming the way of the visitors.

For second place Renhold United it was home win number three on the bounce with a 3-2 victory over Caldecote. Goals from Alex Woolston, Sheldon Washington and Mark Reed saw them into a 3-0 half-time lead before Sam Julian replied twice for the visitors in the second period.

Whilst now up into third place are Wilstead who took their unbeaten ways up to 11 games by winning 5-1 at bottom of the table Elstow Abbey. Michael Jones, Paul Jones, Adam Budek, Colin Marshall and Kieran Braiser all scored to bring up the nap hand against a lone home reply from James Pedley.

Dropping down into fourth place are Ampthill Town Reserves who were beaten for just the second time on the road this season when going down 4-3 at Shefford Town & Campton. Lewis Osbourne with a brace plus strikes from Jarome Mullings and Ryan Lewis were on the home scoresheet against replies via Charlie Cullen, Jack Mordeci and Phil Matthews.

For sixth place Flitwick Town it was an end to their season’s unbeaten home record when defeated 2-0 by fifth place AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College who were returning to winning ways following four straight defeats, Bradley Temperly and Mark Allen netting the vital goals.

Whilst the local bragging rights belong to Ickwell & Old Warden following their 3-2 victory at Sandy. Andrew Vallom with a brace joined on the scoresheet by Conor Green against home replies from Matt Johnson and Peter Rogan.

The Pavenham v Eastcotts AFC and Sharnbrook v Cranfield United games failed to beat the weather.

Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford

Sundon Park Rangers are now eight points clear at the head of the Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford league table and still unbeaten this season following their 0-0 home draw with Ickleford who now climb the table into third spot.

Jumping above Ickleford into second spot following their 3-1 win over Westoning are Queens Park Crescents. Myles Ferraro, Daniel Rasol and Fabio Sattar all found the back of the net against a lone reply via Sam Holmes.

Whilst for Potton Town it was home league win number three on the bounce and revenge for their Centenary Cup defeat last weekend when beating Shefford Town & Campton Reserves 3-2, James Willis, Sam King and James Pyman seeing their goals only replied to by a brace from Steve Moules for the visitors.

The AFC Oakley M&DH Reserves v Henlow and Meltis Albion v AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves games were postponed due to frozen pitches.

Bedfordshire FA Junior Cup Quarter-Finals

With the Stevington Reserves v Farley Boys Reserves game frozen off the result of the day belonged to Cople & Bedford SA who emerged home penalty shoot-out winners over Cranfield United Reserves despite playing the last 24 minutes with just 10 men following the sending off of Grant Lovell.

At this point SA were trailing to a United goal from Jordan Conway before two goals in a three minute spell from Daniel Lupton and Ollie Hughes saw them 2-1 ahead with 15 minutes left to play until, with just five minutes to play, United’s Robert White netted to square the game at 2-2 and force a penalty shoot-out to decide the winners.

In that shoot-out home goalkeeper Russell Abbey was to become the Cople hero in keeping out efforts from Alessandro Barbieri and Phil Distin as the home side ran out 4-2 winners. Robert White and Ryan Collis were the only two United players to beat Abbey whilst the home side had a 100% strike rate via Paul Nigro, Ollie Hughes, Gary Canzano and Carmine Defeo to win the day.

Elsewhere over at Cutler Hammer Kempston Hammers Sports ran out 2-1 home winners over Wixams thanks to a brace of goals from Martin Bennett against a lone reply from Gareth White and will be joined in the hat for the last four draw by Clapham Sports who were 3-2 winners at Wilstead Reserves. Marko Tobizic netted twice and Liam Bolton once against home replies via Luke Pursey and Luke Prietzel.

Division Two

In the day’s lone league encounter Atletico Europa climbed up into fifth place in the league standing with a 5-2 home win over Bedford United.

Daniel Green scored twice to go alongside single strikes from Tadji Jankovic, Cameron Browne and Ric Bulzis to bring up the nap hand against a brace in reply from United’s Thomas Donnelly.

Hertfordshire FA Junior Cup Third Round

It proved to be the end of the road for Lea Sports PSG who were beaten 3-2 after extra time at Elizabeth Allen Old Boys, Joe Hennem and Ryan Darby netting the PSG goals in the opening 90 minutes.

Wixams remain seven points clear at the head of the division three league table after second place Sundon Park Rovers lost their unbeaten away record when going down 2-1 at Harvey Close against Caldecote Reserves who now climb the standings into fourth spot after this, their sixth home win on the bounce.

Carl Heath netted both of the home goals in the games opening five minutes against a Rovers reply from Daniel Longalonga.

Winning their fifth game on the bounce were third place AFC Dunton with a 5-1 home victory over second from bottom of the table Meltis Albion Reserves.

Tony Norman with a brace plus strikes from Jimmy Fuller, Brandon Bates and Lee Adams doing the damage against a lone Albion reply from Kade Walker.

The Clifton v Sandy Reserves and Shefford Town & Campton A v White Eagles games being postponed due to frozen surfaces at Whiston Crescent and Rectory Road.

Division Four

For league leaders Mid Beds Tigers it was the end of their 100% league record when beaten 2-0 at AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College A who now climb the table into fifth spot, Kegan Roberts and Chris Allen netting the vital goals.

With the Caldecote A v Polonia Bedford game postponed now up into second place in the league standings are Bedford Albion following their 4-3 home win over bottom of the table Lidlington United Sports. Paul Babbington and Govinda Bains both scored twice against single replies from Alex Roberts, John Webber and Greg Roberts.

Elsewhere Henlow Reserves lifted themselves out of the bottom two of the standings when recording their first home win of the season in defeating Westoning Reserves 2-0, an own goal plus a strike from Andy Harvey doing the damage.
