Beds League: Shefford & Campton lower Blunham’s colours

Premier Division

IT’S all change at the head of the Premier Division table after morning leaders Blunham were beaten 2-1 at Shefford Town & Campton. Andy Smith shot Blunham into a first half lead while ten minutes into the second period, Andrew Vallom saw his penalty saved by home goalkeeper Gary Cullerton in what turned out to be the turning point of the game.

Adam Larsen levelling on the hour mark, then Ricky Smith hitting the winner ten minutes from time.The points lifting the home side up into third slot in the league table.

The new leaders are Renhold United,despite being held to a 1-1 draw at Wilshamstead. Anup Kalayan shooting them ahead ten minutes into the contest before Paul Jones evened matters up five minutes from the break.

Up into fourth slot in the league table are Woburn, 3-0 away winners at Sharnbrook, Matt Holland netting twice alongside Aaron Calvin. Whilst Dunton moved themselves into the top six with a 2-1 home victory over Caldecote.

Goalless at half-time, Lawrence Bosher struck twice to take Dunton 2-0 clear until Gordon Guile reduced the arrears from the penalty spot ten minutes before time.

The biggest win of the day in this division belonging to Arlesey Town Reserves, with a 5-0 home victory over Oakley Sports. Daniel St Leger leading the way with a hat-trick supported by goals from Danny Hillard and Adam Millard.

Also enjoying their first league win of the season were AFC Kempston Town, 2-1 victors at Biggleswade United Reserves. Matty Smith and Ed L’Erario on the scoresheet against a home reply from Tony Norman.

Away from the league action, Southill Alexander made their exit from the FA Carlsberg Vase when beaten 3-0 at Essex Senior League side Eton Manor.

Division One

THE early season Division One leaders are Bedford Hatters, who preserved their 100 per cent record from three games with a 4-0 home win over Sandy. Scott Alleyne hitting a hat-trick alongside a strike from Simon Pixey.

The next three teams in the table also still have 100 pewr cent records, but have only played twice. Blunham Reserves head the trio in second spot after running out 14-0 home winners over Brache Sparta Community Reserves. Chris Dunne, Daniel Whitten and Wayne Morris all hitting hat-tricks, Mark Davidson netting twice,plus there were single goals for Roy Bloxham, Graham Beales and Dave Watson.

In third place are Potton Wanderers, 7-2 home winners over Bedford Sports Athletic. Jesse Moyo leading the way with a hat-trick supported by strikes from Danny Fox, Conor Green, Greg Instrell and Chris Sams.

The Athletic replies coming via Gary Canzano and Ashley Mead.

The fourth and final 100% outfit are Marston Shelton Rovers, 2-0 winners at Caldecote Reserves. Dean Clark and Xennon Paul netting the vital goals.

Jumping the league table into sixth spot are Henlow, who ran out 3-2 winners at Marston Social. Pete Saunders on target twice plus Glyn Clarke the Henlow scorers against home replies from James Armstrong and Jordan Appleton.

Also winning on the road were AFC Kempston Town Reserves, 4-3 at Luton Old Boys .Lee Moon, Greg Etheridge, Daniel Johnson and Justin Sterniello all on the scoresheet against a home brace from Ashley Wadhams plus a goal from Michael O’Hanlon.

Elsewhere, FC Meppershall came from 0-2 down to secure a 3-2 home win over Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves.

The visitors with goals from Lee Threadgold and Tom Hobbs looking totally in command before a red card for Steve Monks appeared to change the contest.

Tom Donovan and Daniel Janes strikes plus an own goal then winning the three points for the home side.

 

Division Two

JUST goal difference separates the leading three clubs at the head of the Division Two league table. Arlesey Social Galacticos leading the way, thanks to a 2-1 home win over Great Barford, Mark McMillan plus an own goal outweighing a lone reply from Daniel Stafford.

In second spot are Clifton, 5-4 home winners over Bromham United. Barry King on target twice alongside Will Pitts, Toby McNaught and David Sargeant against United replies from Phil Kempsall, Adam Cranny, Adam Cochrane and Reuben Hukin.

Whilst holding down third slot are Queens Park Crescents, 3-2 home winners over Lea Sports PSG. Ayaz Hussain, Mohammed Zahar and Mohammed Raheem on the home scoresheet against replies from Charlie Betts and Martin Collins.

Elsewhere, there were big away wins for both Stopsley Park and Elstow Abbey. Park running out 6-0 winners at Kempston Hammers Sports where Tyrone Patterson netted a hat-trick plus Matt Palmer, Rod Wilson and James Smart all found the back of the net.

For Elstow Abbey, it was a 5-0 win at Stevington, Tom Pitts, Aaran Carvill, Jason Harrison, Harry Ellis and Kalyan Wilson the goalscorers.

Enjoying a comfortable home win were Westoning Recreation Club, 6-1 over Shefford Town & Campton Reserves.Ian Buckingham with a hat-trick leading the way alongside goals for Alex Barnwell, Dan Channon and Matt Barnes against a Town reply from Jake Brown.

The final game of the day in this section seeing Harpur FC and Lidlington United Sports share the points in a 4-4 draw.

Kane Alexander, Reece Bell, Matthew Tatham and Phil Garrad the home marksmen, whilst a Darren Sims hat-trick and a Chris Roberts penalty werethe United replies.

Division Three

PAVENHAM continue to lead the way at the head of the Division Three league table after netting a 2-0 win at Co-Op Sports, goals from Luke Owen and Michael Bates doing the damage.

In second spot, and still with a 100 per cent record after three games are Sharnbrook Reserves, 2-1 home winners over Wilshamstead Reserves. Jayme Harris and Darryl Gadsden seeing their goals only replied to by Colin Merritt.

The biggest win of the day in this section belonged to Westoning Recreation Club Reserves, 7-1 winners at Shefford Town & Campton A.

Liam Boyle with a hat-trick plus goals from John Bass, Karl Demner, Andrew Morris and Joe Rogers only being replied to by David Young.

For Renhold Village, it was a 3-1 home win over Royal Oak Kempston, Simon Wade, Carl Townsend and Stuart Kester all on the mark against an Oak reply from Lorenzo Jordan.

Elsewhere, Sundon Park Rangers and Flitwick Town Reserves shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Nick Buttigieg with a brace plus a goal from Sam Chapman giving the home side a 3-0 lead until a brace from Harry Rowlands plus a goal from Grant Archer levelled matters by the final whistle.

The final game in this section.Cranfield United Reserves and Riseley Sports also finishing all square at 0-0.

Division Four

GOLDINGTON are the new league leaders of the Division Four table after netting a 12-0 away win at Goldington Hammers.

Karl Anderson and Manuel Falcon both netting hat-tricks, Robert Brown grabbing a brace alongside single strikes from Keiron Bridger, Kevin Malone, James Morris and Chris Hutchinson.

However, the next four clubs in the standings also still have 100 per cent records for the season.

Second are AFC Turvey, 4-0 home winners over Dinamo Flitwick, John Guiney with a brace plus goals from Rajan Kalyan and Chris Winton doing the damage.

Sitting in third spot are Eastcotts, who enjoyed a 6-0 home win over Kempston Athletic, Michael Sexton netting four times and Tony Milioti twice.

In fourth place are Clifton Reserves, 4-2 winners at Sandy Reserves.Jason Woodhouse, George King, Dan Humpreys and Robert Harradine all finding the back of the net against Sandy replies from David Harris and Marcus Tait.

The final 100 per cent side and holding down fifth place are Thurleigh, 3-1 winners at Stewartby Village. Goals from Stefan Wilson and Nathan Bryrne plus a Daniel Newton penalty only being replied to by a home penalty from Ben Sparks.

Elsewhere, Bedford Park Rangers were running out 5-2 away winners at Lea Sports PSG Reserves. Roy Murnane with a hat-trick plus strikes from Michael Patterson and Nick Lushi, the replies from Haji Conteh and Ken Okolie.
