Biggleswade Town slumped to a 3-0 defeat at local rivals Hitchin Town in the Southern League Premier on Saturday.

It ws just three weeks since the Waders pulled off an awesome victory at Weymouth but since then they have found the going tough and slipped down the table.

In the first half Biggleswade managed two shots over the bar and one that dirtied the keeper’s gloves.

Ian Brown made five brilliant saves before Callum Donnelly put a well-drilled Hitchin side in front after 37 minutes. The break could not come soon enough.

Hitchin added two more in the second period through Robbie Burns on 71 minutes and Jonny McNamara five minutes from time to make the result complete.

The Waders now host neighbours Arlesey Town in the Red Insure Cup on Tuesday, November 10.
