Final friendly runouts as league campaigns loom

Stotfold were 4-2 winners when they took on Potton United in a pre-season friendly at The Hollow on Tuesday.

The Stotfold goals came via braces from Theo Swaine and Josh Murray.

On Tuesday Biggleswade Town earned a 1-1 draw at home to National League South side St Albans City.

The Waders went ahead in the first half through Inih Effiong, and Ian Brown saved a penalty, but St Albans equalised in the second period via Kieron Bishop.

In more local derby action, Arlesey Town won 2-0 at Biggleswade United on Saturday. Arlesey lost 2-0 at home AFC Dunstable on Tuesday.

Also on Saturday Stotfold lost 3-1 at home to Barton Rovers, Swaine on the mark.

On the previous Thursday they drew 3-3 with Harpenden, their goals coming from Louis Taylor (2), and Michael Payne.

In pre-season action, Potton United lost 8-0 at home to Barking on Saturday.

This weekend Biggleswade Town are at home to National League side Borehamwood, then head to Eynesbury on Tuesday.

Biggleswade United travel to Hitchin Town for their final friendly on Saturday.

Potton host near neighbours Gamlingay on Saturday, before visiting Sandy in their final pre-season match on Tuesday – a game that has been re-arranged from the Wednesday

Sandy are hosting Meltis Albion Reserves on Saturday, in a change to the scheduled friendly against Oakley.

Caldecote are at home to Langford Reserves on Tuesday.

The football league season kicks off on Saturday, August 8.
