Ironton blasts Blues’ ‘worst display yet’
The Blues found themselves two goals behind at the interval, and despite a late strike from George Ironton, the boss was less than pleased with his side.
The defeat is Arlesey’s third in four league fixtures, and leaves them languishing down in 20th place.

“We managed to get a goal back but we didn’t deserve anything from the game.”
“There were three or four experienced players not available. But there was no intensity, no work rate and we couldn’t pass the ball. We looked disjointed.
“They were quicker than us, stronger and more hungry than us. It just came at the wrong time.”

However, even though the Blues are currently without Dean Gilbert, James Hatch, Dave Corran, Louis Lee and Stefan Bailey, Ironton believes inconsistency has been the biggest problem.
He added: “Getting the players I want is a problem. We’re crying out for a forward at the moment.
“The defence and midfield are solid, but we really need someone up front right now.

“The squad is quite good. We’ve got a lot of strength in depth, but we are desperate for a striker.
“The reason we’re near the bottom is down to inconsistency. We’ve got a good young side, but they’ve got to learn the situation we’re in.”
Arlesey travel to St Neots this weekend.
