Langford exited the SSML Challenge Trophy on penalties at home to Broxbourne on Tuesday night.
The hosts started well, passing and holding possession against their feisty Premier Division opponents. In the 6th minute this paid off when a poor clearance fell to the feet of Nathan Mallett who rounded a defender and shot past the Broxbourne keeper for 1-0.
This woke Broxbourne up, and they applied pressure of their own forcing a series of free kicks close to the Langford area, however different takers all failed to get a shot on target. Langford were restricted to a few counter attacks, but held on.
Broxbourne started the second half strongly and again forced a free kick, which was hit against the defensive wall and cleared. Then on 59 minutes Langford countered Sean Monagle picked the ball up in the centre circle beating two defenders then rounding the keeper and slot home 2-0.
Broxbourne piled on the pressure, and three minutes later Adam murad shot home from close range.
The game was affected by both teams making regular substitutions, but Langford were pegged back, and in the 92nd minute Brad Harrison headed the equaliser with the last action of normal time.
The game was sent to spot kicks and FC Broxbourne won the shoot-out 4-2.
