Langford shared six goals at home to Chesham United Reserves in the SSML Division One on Saturday.

A minute’s silence was held for ex-Langford players Mick Bennett and Mark Klimeck who both passed away recently.

The game kicked off with early Reds pressure which came to nothing. Chesham Reserves appeared content to counter-attack. Chesham gained more possession and had a header over the bar from a free kick. On 15 minutes Jay Caimies ran down Chesham’s right flank and crossed for Imman Dulu to head home.

The lead lasted barely a minute when Sean Murray headed on a cross for Ben Stocker to head in at the far post.

Langford then played good passing football which paid off in the 28th minute when Matt Kenneford passed from midfield into the path of David Tembua wide on the right, his cross was met by Nathan Mallett who shot home for 2-1.

The game settled into a period of shared midfield possession, the best chance falling to Langford which was saved by Tom Cowans in the Chesham Reserves goal.

With the blustery wind behind them in the second half Chesham pinned Langford back. However the Reds counter-attacked, the first move resulting in a shot over the bar from Nathan Mallett. Then in the 68th minute following a cross from Matt Kenneford, Mallett was again the recipient and shot under a despairing keeper for his second and Langford’s third.

Langford then sat back and after 84 minutes the inevitable goal came when Che Kin To found himself in space in Langford’s penalty area and shot home 3-2.

Despite further pressure Langford held on until the 95th minute when poor defending again left Che Kin To the shot home the equaliser.
