Langford suffered a home defeat to forget on Tuesday when they were thrashed 8-0 by Edgware Town in the SSML Division One.

The game started with end to end football being played with no indication of what was to come; both teams enjoyed good possession without creating a good scoring chance. Then in the 10th minute Edgware broke very quickly from defence Adam Ali sweeping the ball forward for Paul Marks to shoot past the keeper 0-1.

The visitors kept up the pressure and were again rewarded in the 24th minute when Stuart Blackbourne latched onto a long ball and drove home 0-2.

Langford rallied and their possession and passing game led to a number of attempts on goal, without managing to hit the target. Then on 41 minutes Adam Ali shot home to make it 3-0 to Town at the break.

Edgware started the second half continuing to play fast football, picking their passes and keeping possession, Langford could only manage the occasional break. Then in the 72nd minute the pressure from Edgware paid off with Adam Ali scoring his second.

Langford heads were down and Edgware had it all their own way with Stuart Blackbourne scoring his second to make it 5-0

Further goals from Blackbourne, Jay Malloy, and Nick turner completed the rout.
