Creasey Park has not always been a happy hunting ground for the Waders making the win over their Bedfordshire rivals all the more satisfying.

Chris Nunn travelled with a full squad along with new signing Emery, a striker transferred from Newport Pagnell late on Friday.

Within minutes Waders created early chances, with Dunstable pressed back as Rhys Hoenes and Craig Daniel applied pressure. Fed by a combative midfield trio of Robbie Parker, Conner Hall and Michael Richens the Waders continued to win procession and forced lofty clearances by Dunstable defenders including one right out the ground!

However a few too many free kicks conceded in the midfield which could have cost the Waders dearly. However Gavin Hoyte, Russell Short and Ian Brown were unbeatable at the back as the first half ended goalless.

After a half time chat the Waders camped out in the Dunstable half. Dunstable were clearly not prepared, and just three minutes in a long ball out to Hoenes allowed him to create space for a whipped cross into the six yard box and Daniel tapped home.

Ritchens was inspired, booked early in the game but showed real composure in the second period winning ball after ball and bringing players around him into the game.

Emery made his debut in a Waders shirt, replacing Connor Vincent and early signs were promising as he chased down the Dunstable back four.

It was a busy afternoon for the Blues defence as the Waders midfield pressed. That reaped rewards on 77 minutes when Emery took advantage of poor defending to sloted home his debut goal and give Waders a 2-0 advantage.

They saw out the game with ease. On this performance it’s clear the Waders may well have a say in who could win the Southern League Premier with games against Chippenham, Leamington and Hitchin to come.

Waders host Hayes and Yeading on Saturday.
