A healthy crowd at the Carlsberg Stadium were treated to an entertaining game. Both managers shuffled their line-ups extensively in the second half.

The pick of the goals was a curling free kick from Waders’ Charlie Hunter on the stroke of half time.

A moment of magic from Ian Rees was enough to earn Hemel Hempstead Town a 1-0 win over Biggleswade Town in Tuesday’s pre-season friendly at the Carlsberg Stadium.

Former Luton Town midfielder Rees delivered a piledriver of a shot from outside the area after 35 minutes.

Three or four clear-cut chances went begging for the Tudors. However, Waders kept plugging away and should have equalised late on.

Arlesey Town ran out 2-0 winners over a Stevenage XI on Saturday. Christian Tavernier and Jack Vasey scored the goals. They then beat Baldock Town 4-2 on Tuesday.

This weekend Biggleswade Town host Margate and Biggleswade United host Brentford U21s.

Arlesey host MK Dons on Tuesday and Hemel Hempstead on Thursday, while also on Tuesday Waders host Rushden & Diamonds and Potton visit Godmanchester.
