Rees piledriver hands Tudors narrow friendly win over the Waders

A moment of magic from Ian Rees was enough to earn Hemel Hempstead Town a 1-0 win over Biggleswade Town in Tuesday night’s pre-season friendly at the Carlsberg Stadium.

Former Luton Town midfielder Rees delivered a piledriver of a shot from outside the area after 35 minutes, which proved to be the decisive moment of the match.

The winning margin should have been far bigger as three or four clear-cut chances went begging for the Tudors.

However, Biggleswade kept plugging away and should have equalised late on when they missed a golden opportunity with only the keeper to beat.
