Saturday football: Waders win on road

Biggleswade Town remain on the edge of the play-offs after a 4-1 win at Thatcham Town on Saturday.

Craig Daniel put the Waders ahead early on and Allinson doubled that from the spot on the stroke of half time. Second half goals from Knight and Mason saw the visitors four to the good, with Smith’s strike in the final minutes a mere consolation.

It leaves Biggleswade in sixth spot in the Evo-Stik Southern Division One Central.

Arlesey Town were without a game on Saturday.

In the SSML Premier Division Biggleswade United went down 3-1 at home to London Colney, Dance on the mark for the hosts.

Stotfold also lost at home to Hertfordshire opposition, 2-1 at home to Tring Athletic, Bodell scoring for the Rokermen.

And in the SSML Division One Langford completed a miserable day for local sides when they lost at home to Crawley Green, Osborne the Reds scorer in a 4-1 defeat.

In the UCL Division One Potton United went down 3-2 at Harrowby.

Nick Cooper’s 35 yard shot flew over the keeper to give Potton the lead in the second minute but Martin Wormall blasted home a penalty to level.

In the 57th minute Lee Shaw gave Harrowby the lead, however Sam Worthington headed home an equaliser ten minutes later. but Potton’s hopes of a point were dashed when Wormall scored a second penalty shortly before time.
