Stotfold came from behind to record an emphatic 5-2 win at St Margaretsbury on Tuesday night.
The Eagles trailed in the first half but an exhilarating showing after the break earned all three points – and the fifth victory of their SSML Premier campaign.
Heavy rain fell in the area on Tuesday but the pitch was deemed fine to play.
Louis Taylor put Stotfold ahead on 18 minutes but St Margaretsbury roared straight back to equalise inside a minute through John Frazer. And ten minutes before the break they went 2-1 up, Frazer grabbing his second this time from the penalty spot.
However Drew Cardines struck to ensure Stotfold went into the interval on level terms.
Ben L’Honore put the visitors ahead once again midway through the second half and this time they weren’t going to let it slip.
Taylor netted his second and Stotfold’s fourth six minutes from time and Mark Ellis added the cherry to the cake by blasting home the fifth from fully 40 yards.
Stotfold are back on the road on Saturday with a tricky fixture at Holmer Green.
They then host Eynesbury Rovers in the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Tuesday night ahead of their festive derby clash with Biggleswade United at Roker Park on December 28.
Biggleswade United’s scheduled cup match at Chesham United Reserves on Wednesday was postponed – as was Biggleswade Town’s county cup tie on Tuesday at home to Bedford.
