On a bright, breezy but chilly Saturday afternoon this was a must win game for if the Eagles were to have any ambition to climb the SSML Premier Division table,

For the first half an hour there was plenty of effort and endeavour without any real clear cut chances, until the 32nd minute when Louis Taylor ran in the right hand channel cut in and struck his left footed shot across the keeper only to see it come off the far post.

Then on the stroke of half time Jaiden Irish hit the side netting after being slipped through by Dami Nickels.

Apart from that were very few goalmouth chances.

After fighting the wind in the first half Stotfold benefitted from the elements in the second period.

In reality the visitors may not have controlled the possession or territory but they certainly had the clearer chances in the early stages of the second half.

However on 68 minutes and against the run of play Tigers took the lead as Stotfold failed to clear their lines and substitute Sufyian Bettamer claimed a scrappy goal.

That was how it finished and although Stotfold may well have had the better quality they really only got what they deserved as the work rate was simply not there.
