Today Top Eleven, the most played online sports game in the world, has announced that it is now the main sponsor of the Second Meadow club.

The agreement marks the first foray into sponsorship by the football management game and will see the Top Eleven logo worn with pride on the front of the club’s first team shirts.

United kick off their latest campaign in the SSML Premier Division on Saturday at home to Holmer Green under the guidance of new manager Cristian Colas Becerra. He holds a 3rd level UEFA Pro Licence that he completed in his native Spain.

The club, led by Chairman Chris Lewis and Director of Football Guillem Balague, has set out to change grassroots football by harnessing the power of the game to inspire their local community.

To do so, Biggleswade United are working closely with local educational and community groups and are aiming to deliver success on and off the pitch through innovative partnerships.

The partnership with Top Eleven will give the club exposure to 120 million players of the game around the world.

Top Eleven, by makers Nordeus, will also support a variety of community and charity-led initiatives undertaken by the Bedfordshire side, including Football Beyond Borders and England Homeless FA.

Guillem Balague, said: “At Biggleswade, we have always believed that grassroots is the cradle of football that if nurtured can grow, develop and flourish not just in footballing terms but for the greater good of the whole community.

“This much welcomed partnership between us and Top Eleven is proof positive that they share our vision and their backing and the confidence they have shown in us will provide the boost and inspiration we need to help us move forward and achieve our dreams.

“To say I am proud doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings today.”

Top Eleven is the most played cross-platform online football manager game ever and has 10 million monthly active users and 5 million daily active users.

It currently boasts José Mourinho as the official brand ambassador.

Club chairman Chris Lewis said: “The ethos we intend to install goes well beyond that of Biggleswade.

“What we achieve could become a template of what is commonly known as ‘grass roots’ football, and we are on the threshold of a revolution.”

CEO of Nordeus, Branko Milutinovic, said: “All Top Eleven managers start their careers in grassroots football and must build their club through improvements both on and off the pitch to succeed.

“In Biggleswade United, we have found the perfect partner, a club who share our passion for football and community building.

“Giving back to the community is one of the core values of Nordeus and joining forces with Chris and Guillem gives us an opportunity to become part of their movement.”
