The Reds kicked off into a stiff breeze and snow flurries on an already wet pitch. Neither team settled, and both played a long ball game, often missing midfield out, neither created good chances.

The home team, in particular looking lost in front of goal having spurned two headed chances.

Meshack Hendrickson came more into the game as the half went on, and the second of two runs down the right saw a defender booked for a rash tackle.

Then on the half hour Connor Waite put Hendrickson through down the centre, he outpaced two defenders and beat the home keeper to put Langford ahead.

The visitors then started playing the better football, and Stephen Brooks missed a one on one chance just before the break, the keeper saving with his body.

Langford started the second period strongly with the breeze at their backs. The game became scrappy, but on 56 minutes, Sean M’Boto shot Codicote level.

A Brooks shot was pushed over as Langford continued to press, but it was Codicote who took the lead following good work and a shot from Jordan Leach-Levy.

Langford made two changes and adopted a more attacking formation. This paid off when Hendrickson was bought down in the area, up stepped Michael Moss to score his 14th penalty of the season.

The visitors continued to push forward and nearly scored from a long shot, which Andrew Meewan backpedalled to push over his bar.

Then in the 93rd minute Hendrickson squared the ball across the edge of the home penalty area, Tyler Ingham sweetly passed the ball into the net, without breaking stride, giving all three points to Langford.
