Wilstead go third in Bedfordshire League

Wilstead find themselves third in the Bedfordshire League after they took their unbeaten away run to seven games with a 3-2 victory at Pavenham on Saturday.

Of Saturday’s four ties just one was to go the way of the home side when at Lodge Road Sharnbrook netted a 5-2 victory over Shefford Town & Campton. James Burnside with a hat-trick was joined on the scoresheet by Patrick Mulvhill and Jordan Baxter to bring up the nap hand against two in reply from Town’s Jamie Osbourn.

The biggest away winners of the day were AFC Oakley M&DH who won 7-1 at Marston Shelton Rovers. Ali Smith with a hat-trick, Rob Heaney with a brace were joined on the scoresheet by Mark Smith and Dan Kelly against a lone Rovers reply from Jamie Cerminara.

Whilst going nap on the road were Cranfield United who won 5-2 at Flitwick Town. James Armstrong and Martin Holland both netted twice alongside a single strike from Jordan Appleton against two in reply from Town’s Ritchie Bevan.

The fourth tie seeing Ampthill Town Reserves win 2-1 at Caldecote. Alan Henman and Ian Buckingham the Town’s goalscorers against one in reply from Sam Julian.

Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford

In maintaining their unbeaten home ways with a 4-3 victory over Riseley Sports second place Stevington are now just five points behind league leaders Sundon Park Rangers. James Bourke scored twice alongside single strikes from Reece Williams and Kieran Souter against Sportsman’s replies via Jack Healey twice and Sam Harrison once.

Whilst Potton Town extended their unbeaten ways up to five games by sharing the spoils in a 2-2 home draw with AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Reserves. Jack Lenham and Chris Cooper were on the home scoresheet against Town replies via Keegan Roberts and Abdoulaye Diallo.

Centenary Cup 1st Round

Ickleford will now travel to Westoning for a Quarter-final tie after emerging 5-1 home winners over AFC Oakley M&DH Reserves. Gareth Head scored twice alongside single strikes from Peter Saunders, Giuseppi D’Angelo and Shane Courtney to bring up the nap hand against a lone reply from Hayden Sohanta.

Centenary Cup Quarter-finals

The result of the day belonged to Henlow who ran out 4-2 winners at Sundon Park Rangers. Antony Bowskill with a brace was joined on the scoresheet by James Campbell and Mathew Standen against Rangers replies via Shaka Anderson and Nash Bennett.

Whilst also enjoying life on the road were Shefford Town & Campton Reserves who won 3-1 at Houghton Athletic. Tim Andrews, Simon Castle and Malcolm Marimiofa scored the goals to do the damage against a lone home reply from Jordan Thomas.

Meantime over at Miller Road it was penalty heartache for current cup holders and hosts Meltis Albion who were beaten 5-3 in a shoot-out by the visiting Queens Park Crescents after 90 and 120 minutes play had seen the sides deadlocked at 1-1. Craig Damon was on the home scoresheet with Ayaz Hussain replying for the Crescents in the opening 90 minutes.

For second place Cople & Bedford SA it was an end to their unbeaten home run when beaten 2-1 by a Bedford United side that had lost its last five away games. Jamaal Dixon and Valentino Ukegbu were the United goalscorers against one in reply from Daniel Lupton.

Whilst Clapham Sports have now won their last six league outings and are right there in the promotion mix after winning 4-1 at bottom of the table Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves. Liam Bolton scored twice alongside strikes from Ryan Prior and Ishmael George against a lone Rovers reply from Kieran Day.

Also in that promotion mix are Atletico Europa who won 1-0 at Wootton Village thanks to a lone goal from Cameron Browne.

Jubilee Cup 1st Round

Kempston Hammers Sports with a hat-trick from Jimmy Grandidge against one in reply from Kempston Athletic’s Troy Bossendorfer will now face a home quarter-final tie against Flitwick Town Reserves after the Town emerged 10-9 home penalty shoot-out winners over Lea Sports PSG after 120 minutes had seen the sides deadlocked at 0-0.

Division Three

For Dinamo Flitwick it was an end to their run of six games without a home win after they emerged 4-0 winners over second from bottom of the table Meltis Albion Reserves. Dale Goldie netting three times and Dean Myles the once to do the damage. Whilst Sandy Reserves won for the first time in eight outings with a 2-0 home victory over White Eagles. Adam Grimshaw and Marcus Bingham netting the goals to do the damage.

Division Four

Bottom of the table Lidlington United Sports still await their first points of the season after going down 3-1 at home against Flitwick Town A. Stuart Kemp netting twice and Juan Montoya once for the Town against a lone United reply from John Webber.

Watson Shield 1st Round

The giant-killing act of the day belonged to division four AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College A who emerged 4-1 home winners over division three side Wilstead Reserves. Joseph Ogunremi, Giovanni Moscaritolo, Chris Greenwood and an own goal marked their scoresheet against one in reply from Sam Ward. They now face a home tie in round two against Bedfordshire Youth Saturday League side Sacred Heart Offley.

There was no giant-killing afoot for division four league leaders Mid Beds Tigers who were beaten 2-0 at division three Renhold United Reserves for whom Michael France netted twice to earn his side a home second round tie against Henlow Reserves.

For division three league leaders Wixams it was a 4-1 home victory over division four Polonia Bedford. Gareth White with a brace plus single strikes from Iain Hall and Charles Collier were replied to once by Adam Chlapinski. A home tie now awaits against Meltis Albion Reserves or Dinamo Flitwick.

Elsewhere Sundon Park Rovers will now travel to White Eagles in round two after winning 3-1 at Bedfordshire Saturday Youth side Linslade Galaxy. Scott Fraser, Chris Scott and Jordan Holmes all finding the back of the net against a lone home reply via Connor Coulson.

Meantime for AFC Dunton it will now be a home round two tie against Stevington Reserves after they with a lone goal from Tony Norman won 1-0 at Caldecote Reserves.

Whilst Bedfordshire Saturday Youth side Ampthill Town will now host Bedford Albion in round two after winning 5-1 at Clifton. Jake Keech with a brace joined on the scoresheet by James Tiller, Josh Hodgman and Will Malloy to bring up the nap hand against one in reply from Mason Bambridge.
