The Men’s Club championships had record entries for the first round and despite the recent heavy rain the course was in fantastic condition.

A total of 22 players made the cut after 18 holes on the Saturday with Craig Pearce leading by two shots from Steve Moss and Shane Cowie.

After nine holes on the Sunday there were seven players within two shots of each other and after 12 holes Gavin had crept into the lead.

Playing two holes behind him was Craig Pearce, just one shot behind playing the last. Craig played a great pitch out of the long rough and holed the 10-foot putt to force a sudden death play-off.

At the first play-off hole both Crag and Gavin made 4s and then at the second Gavin made a five and Craig missed his putt from 15 feet, resulting in Gavin winning the Men’s Club Championship for the second time.

Craig finished as runner-up and Shane Cowie was third, one shot behind.

In the Ladies Championship Mary Peilow held the lead after 18 holes and went to record an impressive win over Alison Stroomer as runner up and Jean Cameron was third. Mary has previously held the title four times, most recently in 2010.
