She finished third in the U20 women’s 60m sprint, as well as improving on her club record with a time of 8.88 secs, at Lee Valley a fortnight ago.

Yet another club record fell at the hands of Georgia Smith in the U15 girls 300m and fellow team member, Jessica Cooke, notched up another new personal best time in this, her first year competing in this age category.

Georgia also narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the 200m by just half a second despite gaining a new personal best time.

Frankie Riley achieved a new season’s best time in her heat of the U20 women’s 200m which qualified her for the final.

And Morgan Webster, now competing in the men’s U20 category, finished in second in his heat of the 400m securing him a place in the final.

Last weekend Tom Boggon travelled to Sheffield for the England Athletics U15/U17/U20 Championships.

Competing in the 400m Tom narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals, however, he did manage a new indoor personal best time of 51.64 secs and is looking forward to the track season.

Also competing last weekend, were senior athletes, John McGrath and Lindsay Lister.

They were both entered into the 800m at the South of England Masters and EVAC Indoor Championships at the Lee Valley indoor stadium.

John ran a tactically perfect race hitting the front with 100m to go and held on to win the MV50 800m gold medal.

Lindsay managed to take the bronze in her race, with a massive indoor personal best time of 2:41:48 ... more than three seconds quicker than her previous indoor best.
