Sandy-based MSA Academy racing driver Ben Tuck finished his rookie season with a superb win in the BRSCC Mazda MX5 Championship title showdown at Donington Park.
The title battle went down to the last race of the season - and Ben finished the championship in third place.
From the start of the championship Ben established himself as one of the front five runners, battling in each hard fought race throughout the season.
Ben took the chequered flag in the last of the three races at the weekend after taking second places in the previous two.
Saturday began badly when unexpected tyre problems saw him struggle for grip on the damp surface and he was placed ninth on the grid. However in a thrilling race Ben battled his way to the leading pack, then picked his moment to take and hold second position.
Race 2 was even more thrilling. Starting from the front row, Ben was quickly engulfed in a four car fight for second place as the leader pulled away, a position he sealed.
In the final race Ben stayed with the leader and chose the perfect moment to make his move for the win two laps from the flag.
Ben’s sponsors and partners Power Maxed, Aviamics, Saturn Systems, Goldstar Onboard, Trafalgar Technical Solutions, Air Research and the MX5 Owners Club were delighted with his success and progression this season.
Ben is searching now for partners to benefit from the business opportunities available as he moves into top flight racing. Visit www.bentuck.com.
