Six cyclists from CC Ashwell did battle in the finale of the National Trophy Cyclo-Cross series at a freezing Milton Keynes Bowl.

Slippery conditions meant staying upright proved a challenge but CCA’s super veteran women Jackie Field showed pace and skill to take fourth place in her category. Ashwell’s U14 girls also had a great race with Harley Pell claiming fifth and Sophie Lewis ninth.

Adam Lightfoot was the highest placed boy taking 11th in the U14 cat, just ahead of Felix Field in 23rd. Noah Field rwas 31st in the competitive U16 boys category.

CCA’s Adam Lightfoot and Sophie Lewis were competing at the Youth Track League at Lee Valley Velodrome.

A range of four races starting with an 18 lap scratch race, followed by 1km sprint, Win & Out and finishing with a traditional 25 lap points race. Lewis took a superb third in the Win & Out backed up with fourth in the points race. Lightfoot took the bonus points in the scratch race but unfortunately missed the break in the points race.
