A fabulous display say S&S Ladies IIs beat West Herts IVs 4-0 at Fortress Sandy.

S&S, in second place in the 5 Counties League Division Two, were uncharacteristically slow out of the blocks and were put under some early pressure. However, the experienced and sprightly forward line of Wilson, Field, Green and Rayner soon forced some fine saves out of the West Herts keeper, which got the confidence flowing in the team. Rayner, and her tenacious stick work earnt S&S their first goal with a fine strike from the edge of the D.

West Herts battled on but S&S held firm in defence with Kelly and Hall handling anything that was thrown at

them. S&S’s mental strength shone through in the second half with the passing and moving much more crisp and precise. S&S’s second goal came from Wilding, who scored her first goal ever for S&S after beating the keeper at the near post. Nunn’s determination and vision lead to Field scoring the third of S&S’s goal. And then Field then went on to score her second and S&S’s fourth and goal of the game.

It was another fabulous display from S&S leading to an emphatic victory. Player of the game went to Wilding for her never ending commitment.

Team: Lian Potter, Gina Kelly, Kaz Hall, Tessa Chiswell, Nat Nunn, Emma Wilding, Hannah Bartram, Amelia Wood, Kath Wilson, Tina Fury, Kirsten Rayner, Charlie Field, Tayla Green.
