A bit of a smart do
Smart & Brown is one of the old and well-remembered manufacturing firms of Biggleswade that employed hundreds of local people. It was famous for its active sports and social club, and this photograph shows folk enjoying one of their dances that took place at the Conservative Club in Biggleswade.
It is believed to have been snapped during the 1960s, but could equally have been the early ‘70s.
Sent in by Cliff Knight, whose father Reg appears at the far right hand side of the table, the other employees and their partners are as yet unnamed.
