Stephen Williams put in a determined spell of bowling as Potton Town beat Cockfosters in the Saracens Herts League Division Two B on Saturday.

His 15 overs included nine maidens as he removed five of the top seven batsmen to end up with figures of 5-22. Cockfosters were dismissed for 205.

Williams was far from done for the day. Opening the batting alongside captain Sean Stevens (30), he made 46. James Worboys was run out one short of his half century and James Howlett was unbeaten on 40 as Potton passed the total with five wickets in hand.

Clifton moved into third spot in Division 5B after making quick work of Flamstead. Rolling the hosts over for 110, Clifton passed that modest target in 22 overs with eight wickets in hand.

Potton Town II cruised to a thumping six wicket win over Hatfield & Crusaders IV after dismissing the home side for just 65.
