Biggy host Peterborough in promotion push

jlkjBiggleswade meet Peterborough at home on Saturday at 3pm in what has been dubbed Super Saturday in the RBS Six Nations tournament. Peterborough currently lay eighth in Midlands 2 East (South) and were well beaten at home by Biggleswade in December but had a big win over Stewarts and Lloyds last time out.

“My expectations were to consolidate our position with a finish in the top half, however at the start of 2015, and after a run of 10 wins my expectations took a leap upwards, the players and coaches have given me a new confidence and expectations of a top two finish,” said club chairman Steve Matthews.

The Six Nations games will also be showing on the club’s screens starting at 12.30pm with Italy vs Wales, followed by Scotland vs Ireland at 2.30pm and England vs France from Twickenham at 5pm. The club will be serving complimentary food during the England game, with club members and public invited to attend and ‘Get behind England’.

Biggleswade Third XV are scheduled to play Old Merchant Tailors in the Herts and Middlesex Merit table at 3pm.

On Sunday the Mini section are off to St Neots for the first of 2 remaining fixtures against the Cambridgeshire side. Biggleswade Under 15s play Dunstablians away in the finals of the East Midlands Plate competition.

The pick of the home games this Sunday is Biggleswade Colts will play Stockwood Park Colts at Langford Road at 11am in the Bedfordshire Cup.
