Biggleswade Rugby Club’s senior teams have a break this Easter weekend with the First XV preparing for the visit of Wellingborough on April 11.

This game will decide who will play off for the remaining Midlands 1 league place with the Northamptonshire side in the ascendency after a string of high scoring wins including against leaders Old Scouts.

Meanwhile Biggleswade fell to a surprising 28-19 defeat at bottom side Stewart & Lloyds on Saturday.

The club’s Development team are back in the Herts and Middlesex Knock Out Cup semi finals after a team withdrew from the competition. The game will be against either Harpenden or Cuffley on April 11.

World Cup winning squad member Andy Gomarsall will be the guest speaker at the annual club dinner on Friday, May 15. Gomarsall has had a long career and spells at numerous top flight teams. Tickets are £40 from club chairman Steve Matthews.
