Wild things at Easter, The Lodge, Sandy, March 30-April 15
It’s a wild day for the family at The Lodge. Follow the Signs of Spring Easter trail and use the clues to work out what each different egg was laid by which bird. Stop and take part at the activity stations along the trail. Try to make a bird nest just like a real bird - it’s harder than you think, and we have hands and fingers. People can also make a den at the den building station and imagine what it’s like to be tucked up like a bird inside a tree.
Sleeping Beauty, Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage, March 30-April 2
The King and Queen are throwing a party to celebrate the birth of their beautiful daughter Princess Aurora. Everyone is invited - everyone apart from Narcissus, the cruel Fairy. When Narcissus discovers she hasn’t been invited she gate-crashes and curses the baby Princess and its left up to the good Fairies, Bluebell, Primrose and Tulip to try and save the day. It comes to the stage by the same team who staged Rapunzel the Musical which was performed last year and was sold out. Tickets for the show are likely to be in short supply.
Atari Youth Club, Red Lion, Biggleswade, March 31
The band are a four piece indie/rock covers band focusing on British music. Expect to hear tunes from the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Oasis and Blur.
The Two Tones, Potton and District Club, March 31
This skaband will be performing from 9pm to midnight. Tickets are £5.
The Delta Ladies, The Engineers Arms, Henlow, March 31.
The band is made up of multi-instrumentalists - Vicky Martin and Diana Stone who will play the best of Americana.
Out and About near Tempsford, Stuart Memorial Hall, Tempsford, April 1
An exhibition of photographs of places in the surrounding area including Blunham, Shefford, Potton, Dunton, Roxton, Bedford, St.Neots, Old Warden, Chicksands and Cardington. Many permanent displays associated with Tempsford Village and RAF Tempsford will also be on display. It runs from 2pm to 4pm.
Easter Creature Hunt, Jordan’s Mill, Biggleswade, April 2-15
Youngsters can then follow the trail around the Mill garden, Meadow and Woodland, choose one item from each of the 10 boards to create their very own magical Easter creature.
Dumbo, The Quarry Theatre, Bedford, April 2
Ostracized from the rest of the circus animals, poor Dumbo the elephant is separated from his mother, who is chained up in a separate cage after trying to defend her child. Only brash-but- lovable Timothy Mouse offers the hand of friendship to Dumbo, encouraging him to exploit his “different” qualities for fame.
Welsh National Opera, Milton Keynes Theatre, April 4-7
Welsh National Opera presents Italian operas from three of the greatest composers for its Spring season in Milton Keynes. The season, entitled Rabble Rousers, will feature a new production of Verdi’s La forza del destino alongside revivals of Puccini’s Tosca and Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Tosca is performed on April 4 and 6, Don Giovanni is performed on April 5 with La forza del destino performed on April 7.
The Magic of Hollywood, Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage, April 5-6
This amazing new show, created by Strictly Come Dancing favourite Pasha Kovalev alongside another pro Anya Garnis. It is jam packed with sequins, glitz and glamour as Pasha takes to the stage with his sensational dancers and they perform Oscar worthy performances all set to a Hollywood theme.
