Rehearsals on Singin' in the Rain

Raining live on the stage, the much loved musical Singin’ in the Rain coming to the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage starting on Tuesday.

In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes things aren’t always as they appear on the big screen.

Lina’s squeaky voice might be the end of her career in “talking pictures” without the help of a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her.

The Greatest Movie Musical of All Time is faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green from their original award-wining screenplay Singin’ In The Rain.

Each unforgettable scene, song, and dance is accounted for, including the show-stopping title number Singin in the Rain plus Good Morning, Make Em Laugh, Moses Supposes, and You Were Meant For Me.

Complete with an onstage rainstorm, the theatre has described the show as featuring hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make Singin’ In The Rain the perfect entertainment for any fan of the golden age of movie musicals.

The show which will be played until Saturday September 27 comes from the creative team who were responsible for the critically acclaimed Sister Act on the same stage and features both a West End cast and live orchestra.

Tickets for the show can be booked by calling the box office on 01438 363 200 or by visiting where more information is available.
