Ancient history was brought to life for pupils at a lower school on Monday (March 3).

Children at Stondon Lower School in Lower Stondon learned about the Romans and had the chance to dress up in traditional costumes during a special day of activities.

The History off the Page organisation visited the school to help bring the topic to life for youngsters, who have been studying the Romans this year for Key Stage Two.

Year Three teacher Ciara Dumpleton said: “We have reached the halfway point in the topic and we wanted to organise something special to keep everything fresh for the pupils.

“The children spent time making mosaics and clay pots, and they also learned about Boudica.

“We later served a feast for everyone.”
