Couple pull out all the stops with their festive decorations

A Christmas enthusiast is raising money for charity with an elaborate display of festive lights.

Mike and Gill Wilmott have spent months planning the decorations for their house in St Neots Road in Sandy.

They hope that passersby will give money to their collection for St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.

This is their sixth year collecting funds for the Sue Ryder hospice.

Mike said: “Last year we made over £1,500. This year we’ve made £500 so far. Over the years we’ve raised £4,000.

“I love Christmas; it makes children and people happy so I will keep doing it. The hospice is a local charity and I think it does very good work. I volunteer and do the fish pond up there.”

This year’s additions include a new Christmas pudding on the front of the house.

Mike and Gill spent six months planning the lights.

There is a collection box outside the house.
