But while Batman fights against crime, Bedfordshire Police was keen to point out that owning a weapon like this is against the law.

Operation Sceptre – the national week of action to combat knife crime – ran from Monday, April 26 to Sunday, May 2 and saw a whole host of activities happen, including weapons sweeps across the county.

The team said: "We would like to remind the public that not only is it illegal to carry this type of weapon in public, but it is now also an offence to possess in a private home.

"Knife bins are available throughout the county, the nearest knife bin is in Millennium Park Shefford."
