Police appeal after Arlesey bag snatch

Officers investigating a burglary which took place while the victim was at home are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The incident took place in The Rally in Arlesey, between 9am and 9.25am last Friday (3 February). A man had knocked on the front door to ask the occupant whether he could take some of the property left in the front garden, and the victim agreed. A short while later the victim saw the same man enter her garden and take a handbag from inside the kitchen, which was near the back door.

Detective Constable Emma King, investigating, said: “It appears as though this opportunist took advantage of the victim’s kindness in giving away their second-hand items, and seized the chance to steal.
