Four injured in collision

A combine harvester and two motorbikes were in collision in Langford Road, Henlow.

The incident occurred at 1pm yesterday (Sunday, August 4).

One of the motorcyclists was run over by the combine harvester. He was taken to the major trauma centre at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by the Essex Air Ambulance.

A further casualty was taken by land to Bedford South General Hospital and a third was taken to Benjamin Court Health Centre in Cromer, Norfolk.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and two rapid response vehicles.

The fire service also attended to cut a chain on a gate to allow access and stayed to assist the ambulance service. Nobody was trapped but a total of four people were injured.
