The library was awarded the opportunity to host a workshop through the prize from the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust based in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The prize is awarded to celebrate the hard work done in libraries over the year and to make sure that Shakespeare is accessible for everyone, and Potton Library received their prize as part of Shakespeare Week this year.

The library has continued to be busy, using the prize to introduce children and customers in Potton to the amazing multicolour worlds of popular history author Chris Lloyd. They have held a series of workshops for both pupils at Potton Lower School and to the customers at the library.

Chris Lloyd displays history visually using timelines within his books and displays large versions of his timelines during his talks, teaching pupils about Shakespeare, British history and nature.

Debbie Grinstead, manager at Potton library, said: “We all had a wonderful day, with all age groups thoroughly enjoying themselves, and Mr Lloyd found the children in school really knowledgeable and interested in the talks given.”
