Celebration day for Angela's Fund team

Her family and supporters got together for a party on Friday, April 8, in memory of Angela, who suffered the rare and aggressive form of small cell ovarian cancer.

She died in 2013 aged 30, but her after diagnosis, she made it her mission to fund the first research into the disease, and launched Angela’s Fund.

Now Angela’s Fund at The Eve Appeal stands at an impressive £40,000, with fundraising ongoing in the hope of extending the approved 15 months of small cell ovarian cancer research to a full five-year research project.

Inspired by Angela, family and friends continually take every opportunity to boost funds in many diverse ways.

In August, family member Tom Gordon will attempt all three iconic cycle climbs to the summit of Mount Ventoux, in the south of France, in one day with the aim of joining the Cingles De Ventoux Club to commemorate his achievement.

With other sponsorships on the go this year and events planned, alongside continual collections of 5p’s and unwanted clothes and items for sale, the Butcher family have their eyes firmly fixed on the next big milestone and the challenge is on to reach this whilst they have the support of researchers and research facilities.
