Among guest speakers are Rosie Green, beauty editor and columnist at Red Magazine and two members of the Coxless Crew, the all-female team who rowed across the Pacific Ocean last year.

Lindsay Pickard, national membership officer and immediate past chair of of the Biggleswade Laides Circle said: “Ladies Circle is an amazing association to be a part of and gives young women in the Biggleswade area the opportunity to connect, have a great time and give something back to the community. Though the club was established in a different time, the original principles of friendship and service remain as relevant today as ever.

“Our club offers young women a chance to do something for themselves through new challenges and activities, opportunities to make new friends and importantly, to make a difference. We always welcome new members.”

Lara Lachello, 80th celebrations event chair added: “We’re putting on a fantastic event on Saturday which truly represents our impressive history and achievements. It’s the culmination of many months of planning and hard work so we’re all very excited to see it coming to fruition. I think our cocktail countdown of 80 days to the 80th celebrations has kept us on track and focussed!”
