Paddle along to town's duck race

The main week of events includes the popular Duck Race at the Dan Albone car park off Shortmead Street on Sunday.

It’s a great family fun afternoon. Buy a plastic duck, and if yours paddles the short course along the river the fastest you win cash prizes!

Ducks are on sale from the carnival stall in Biggleswade Market Square on Saturday morning - and on the day from 12.30pm.

The first race is at 2pm and there are also stalls, games, a barbecue and mini disco.

Before that is the Whimsical Quizzical fun quiz at the Gardeners Arms pub in Potton Road tomorrow night (Saturday). It’s a fun night with lots of prizes and entry is just £2 per person. Arrive around 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

The week continues with three events at Biggleswade Social Club in Church Street, formerly the Working Men’s Club.

Get your thinking caps on for the quiz night on Monday, June 27. Teams of up to six can enter - contact Kevin on 01767 223098 to book yours in. Be at the club for 7.30pm.

On Tuesday, June 28 it’s eyes down for the Bingo Night with books costing £1 and a £100 jackpot up for grabs. Simply turn up from 7.30pm, with the games beginning at 7.45pm.

Then on Thursday, June 30 the Crib Night returns.

There’s a £70 prize for the winner and £30 for the runner-up. It gets under way from 7pm - congtact Jimmy Warwick on 01767 312409 to take part.
