Remembrance Day: Potton gets ready for service at town's war memorial

The service will start in the Market Square

A Remembrance Day service is set to take place in Potton on Sunday (November 13).

The service will start in the Market Square at 10am for a 10.15am start. It will then move to the War Memorial at the cemetery on Sandy Road following a parade through the town.

At the Memorial, the names of Potton’s 'Lost Sons' from two world wars will be read out and a poppy on a cross will be placed for each name called. Wreaths will then be laid on the memorial by representatives from both youth and adult organisations in Potton and by a representative of the various military veterans organisations.

Following prayers from the Reverend Alex Wheatley and Major Christine of Potton’s Salvation Army, there will be the two minutes silence, following the Last Post, and Reveille which will be played by the Salvation Army trumpeter. Finally, the National Anthem will be sung.
