Visitors Dorchester, relegated from the Conference South last season, started strongly but Arlesey were starting to play some good football through the centre of the park. Dean Mason linked well with Andre Maltay who put in a good cross that keeper Alan Walker-Harris collected well.

A good cross field move again found Hallelujah and he squared back to Christian Tavernier whose shot from the edge flew just over the bar.

Both sides had openings but the half ended goalless.

In the second period Arlesey could have taken the lead as Hallelujah made a great run into the box and his shot beat the advancing keeper but also just beat the far post.

As the game moved into its final phase players were tiring in the heat and the breakthrough came. Liam McGovern put in a deep cross that both Bossman and Walker-Harris went for, the big centre forward did enough for the keeper to miss the ball and it dropped invitingly behind him for Dean Mason to make no mistake from six yards on 77 minutes.
