Weekend football: Arlesey win, Waders held

Arlesey Town saw off the challenge of bottom side Kettering Town in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier on Saturday.

The Blues won 3-0. Ryan Frater bagged the first just before the break, and a double from Drew Roberts early in the second half sealed the win.

In Evo-Stik Division One Central Biggleswade Town were held to a 1-1 draw at AFC Hayes. Craig Daniel put the Waders a goal to the good just past the hour, but Mendhi levelled for the hosts eight minutes later.

Arlesey Town host Biggleswade Town in the Red Insure Cup this coming Tuesday, November 20.

In the SSML Premier Division Cup Second Round Stotfold lost out in extra time at home to Haringey Borough.

Stephen Obeng put the visitors ahead at the hour mark, but Ricky Baker levelled to send the tie into an extra 30 minutes. Stotfold were in front quickly via a Cedric Lakole own goal, But Nick Nicou equalised, and Chris Benjamin scored Borough’s winner in the last minute.

Both Langford and Biggleswade United were without games at the weekend.

In the United Counties League Division One Potton United went down 3-2 at home to Thrapston.
