Remembering carnival talent
SHIRLEY Peacock also recalls the Ivel River Boys and would like to hear from readers with their stories of other talented carnival performers.
She said: “I have been reminiscing with friends about the 1950s Biggleswade Carnivals and talent shows that we used to participate in and was wondering if any of your readers have any old photos in connection with this?
“The talent shows were very popular and very entertaining. We entered as The Lollipops and we remember the Ivel River Band as being a very good group. Biggleswade used to be packed for the carnivals and the talent contests.”
