Hollywood movies with the blue birds

TRAVEL on a musical journey through the hits from the flicks of yesteryear with this superb production.

The Kingfisher Players, who first met way back in 1966, are bringing their latest production to the stage tonight (Friday) and tomorrow evening (Saturday).

The amateur actors and actresses originally met in Sandy but later began rehearsing at the Stuart Memorial Hall in Tempsford, a site that they have now occupied for more than 20 years.

Lately their rehearsals have been focused on the play Hollywood Hits and Funny Bits, which audiences will be able to appreciate this weekend.

The group claim that their event will be “even bigger than the Oscars” so it should be well worth attending!

The performances will bring to life a series of songs and sketches to make you laugh, tap your feet and feel nostalgic.

The musical extravaganza will take you on a journey through classic cinematic songs, including Singing in the Rain from its namesake 1952 film and Somewhere Over the Rainbow, a tune that shot to fame as part of The Wizard of Oz.

James Bond, Moulin Rouge and Pulp Fiction will also all have their roles to play in this amusing night from the movies.

A Kingfisher Players spokesman said: “The evening would not be complete without the sprinkling of sketches to tickle those humorous tastebuds. It is great family entertainment.”

So don’t miss out but dust off your best clothes and take your seats for the show.

Hollywood Hits and Funny Bits will be performed at the Stuart Memorial Hall in Tempsford.
