Sixties’ sounds were into something good

The Solid Silver 60s Show will turn back the musical clock by 50 years when it hits the stage at Milton Keynes Theatre.

Peter Noone, who became the lead singer for Herman’s Hermits at the tender age of 15, will perform his popular songs.

Peter had 10 UK top 10 hits including I’m Into Something Good, No Milk Today, Silhouettes and There’s a Kind of Hush.

He became the youngest British vocalist to top the US charts with Mrs Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter. It sold 14m copies worldwide.

Peter will be joined by Californian, Chris Montez, who had the 1962 hit Let’s Dance. He also sang Call Me, La Bamba and The More I See You. At the height of his fame The Beatles supported Chris on his tour dates in the UK.

New Yorker, Brian Hyland, will also join the show. His career took off in 1960 when he released Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. The song became his first hit single and was followed by Ginny Come Lately and Sealed With a Kiss.

Brian Poole, who formed The Tremeloes in 1958, will also delight fans of music from the 1960s. He was in the top ten four times in two years with classic songs Do You Love Me, Twist and Shout, Candy Man and I Can Dance. His song, Someone Someone, was one of the biggest hits of the decade.

Vanity Fair will be backing all of the artists at the show, which will be touring around the UK. Their hits include Early in the Morning and Hitching a Ride.

The Solid Silver 60s Show will be coming to Milton Keynes Theatre on Sunday, April 1. There will be a matinee performance at 4pm and an evening show at 8pm.
