Can’t take my eyes off theatre

Make it your new year’s resolution to see more shows at the theatre.

Tribute show New Jersey Nights continues at Milton Keynes Theatre this week. Hear Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’s hits tonight (Friday) at 7.30pm, or tomorrow at 2.30pm or 7.30pm.

The international hit show will take you on a musical journey celebrating the greatest hits of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

Featuring four great singers, perfect harmonies, stylised costumes, a rockin’ live band and amazing dancers Jersey Nights delivers all of the Four Seasons hits, including Sherry, Rag Doll, Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You and Big Girls Don’t Cry. Tickets cost from £10.

On Sunday Milton Keynes Chorale, the Danesborough Chorus, vocal soloists and Meridian Sinfonia will bring the music of Mozart to the same venue at 7.30pm. The programme features Mass in C Minor – The Great Mass, Ave Verum Corpus, Eine kleine Nachtmusik and Exsultate Jubilate. Tickets cost from £8.

Graham Linehan’s comedy, The Ladykillers, comes to the theatre on Wednesday and stays until Saturday, January 26.

Performances are at 7.30pm each evening with additional 2.30pm matinees on the Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tickets cost from £12.

There are no shows planned at the Gordon Craig Theatre or Bedford Corn Exchange this week.

The 39 Steps is showing at Cambridge Arts Theatre from tomorrow (Saturday) until Saturday, January 26.

Based on Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller, it has been performed in the West End, on Broadway and in 25 countries.

The comedy follows the incredible adventures of handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip, British gung-ho and pencil moustache as he encounters dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women.

This wonderfully inventive and gripping comedy thriller features four fearless actors, playing 139 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and thrilling action.

See it tomorrow at 2pm or 8pm. From Monday to the following Saturday it will be performed at 7.45pm each evening with additional 2.30pm matinees on the Thursday and Saturday.
