Love and free will is showcased on stage

Louise Brealey ,who plays lovelorn pathologist Molly Hooper on the drama series, is to appear in Constellations.

The explosive new play about love, free will and friendship from one of the leading voices in modern British theatre, Nick Payne.

It comes to the Cambridge Arts Centre after a sell-out run at the Royal Court, West End and Broadway. This UK tour also stars Joe Armstrong, who has appeared in The Village and Happy Valley.

Sparked by the first encounter of bee-keeping Roland and scientist Marianne, the boundless potential of their connection leads audiences though a heart-breaking love story of endless invention.

Award-winning playwright Nick Payne’s recent plays for The Royal Court include Art of Dying and Wanderlust, and other successes include Blurred Lines at the Shed at the National Theatre.

The original production of Constellations opened in 2012 at the Royal Court to outstanding reviews and continued its critical sell-out success on Broadway starring Luther actress Ruth Wilson and Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

It has been described by the Guardian as “playful and pitch-perfect” and by the Evening Standard as “packing a real emotional punch – ingenious and beautiful, truly stellar.’

Constellations will be performed at the theatre in Cambridge from Tuesday June 16 to Saturday June 20 with performances at 7.45pm each night.

There will be two matinee performances on Thursday June 18 and Saturday June 20 which starts at 2,30pm.

Tickets for the show cost between £15 and £30. There is an additional £3 booking fee.
