It opened in Galway in 1996 and by 1998 it had transferred to Broadway. The play is actually the first of a trilogy.

The Beauty Queen of Leenane will be performed at Cambridge Arts Theatre on Tuesday (June 28) to Saturday, July 2 at 7.45pm each evening.

There will also be a matinee at 2.30pm on the Thursday and Saturday.
