Members of fitness classes in Bedfordshire joined thousands of people across the country to raise over £50,000 for the NHS by taking part in a mini trampoline marathon.

((Bounce)) studios in Bedford, Dunstable and Biggleswade took part in five of the 45-minute mini trampoline online fitness classes in one day, and raised £50,298 for NHS Charities Together.

((B)) @ HOME, the company’s online fitness classes, launched within a week of the temporary closure of its studios in March.

Each class is £4.95 and all class fees are split between UK franchisees to support the self-employed local instructors during the lockdown, all the class fees from Saturday, May 2, were donated to NHS Charities Together.

Gemma Foley, who looks after six franchises in the area – Biggleswade, Stotfold, Letchworth, Hitchin, Bedford and Stevenage - took part in the mini marathon.

She said: “Our ((BOUNCE)) marathon was a truly epic day! All our instructors across the region took part in all 5 sessions.

“We had so much fun being back with our ((BOUNCE)) Army and we felt an enormous sense of achievement in the end. Most of us want to do it again – what a way to celebrate our NHS!”

((BOUNCE)) was founded in 2014 by Kimberlee Perry in Essex, she said: “At this time of crisis, it’s more important than ever to give our support and thanks to the NHS, its staff and volunteers for the amazing work they are doing to keep the public safe.

“Many of our ((BOUNCE)) Army work on the frontline themselves – as health workers, police officers, food and supermarket workers and other vital roles – and we’d like to show our gratitude and appreciation for their efforts in keeping the nation running.

“When I launched the business, I set out to create an empowering and supportive fitness environment.

“So it’s in the very ethos of ((BOUNCE)) to rally behind our own and raise money for such an important cause.
