To celebrate Chinese New Year, Deliveroo has launched a nationwide prize giveaway to help customers across the UK ring in the Year of the Ox.
Since February 2020 'Chinese' has been searched on Deliveroo over 2million times, consistently ranked as the second most searched cuisine, after 'pizza'.
Chinese cuisine is a go-to for Deliveroo customers all year round, and Deliveroo data revealed the most ordered dishes are egg fried rice, chicken chow mein, crispy aromatic duck, chicken fried rice and sweet and sour chicken.
Orders of Chinese food in the app have grown 93% since last year in the UK, and the most popular day to order is Friday, and the busiest times for ordering are between 6pm and 8pm.
Paying homage to the Chinese New Year tradition where friends and family gift money in red envelopes, Deliveroo customers who place an order at any of the selected Chinese restaurants on Deliveroo could win one of five gold cards, each loaded with £1,000 in Deliveroo credit, hidden inside red envelopes.
All customers have to do is place an order at one of the 25 selected restaurants between Friday, February 12, and Sunday, February 14,to automatically be in with a chance of winning one of the prizes.
Milo Drake, UKI Commercial Strategy Manager at Deliveroo said: “We wanted to give our customers some extra good fortune on this special occasion, so we’ve hidden prizes of up to £1,000 Deliveroo credit in orders being delivered across the UK.
"We hope this small gesture from us will bring some added excitement to families celebrating the Year of the Ox at home while ordering mouth-watering meals straight to their door.”
New-to-Deliveroo customers can get £10 off their first delivery with a minimum spend of £15 by using the code WEGETFOOD* between February 11, and February 28.
